There’s nothing like Spring sunshine to bring us out of hibernation and literally put a spring in your step.
Lockdown has meant that we haven’t been able to explore as much as we would like but that’s no excuse not to think ahead and plan some awesome adventures for when we are able to get out and about again.
So, we are on a mission to discover the best walks in the UK and we need you to share your favourites with us, to inspire us to plan new adventures this year. To get the ball rolling here are some of our favourite Cornish walks.
Favourite Cornish Coastal Walks
One of the things that the Yemaya HQ team like most is to go for long walks along the coast especially with our favourite little four legged friends.
The fresh air, clear blue skies, the views, the flowers all lift the spirits after months of lockdown and bad weather.
So grab your walking or running shoes and head out for some fun!
Looking for some inspiration? Here are 5 of our favourites to get you going.
Gribbin Head and the Saints Way – 6.6 miles/10.6km
A scenic walk around Gribbin head with gorgeous coastal views, definitely a favourite in Springtime with celandines, primroses, campion and blossom among the beautiful landscape. Many small, accessible coves too along the route just in case you fancy a quick dip.
Talland Bay to Polperro – 3.7m/6km
Talland Bay is full of legend, it’s where the vicar danced around the graveyard at night to keep people away whilst smugglers hid their haul in the church. This is a fab walk, a bit a hilly at times but one with breath taking views which make it really worth the effort.
St Agnes head to Porthtowan - 5miles/8km
The coastal path here is spectacular, with lots to see. With dramatic scenery and remnants of past mining, this rugged stretch of coastline is sure to blow away the cobwebs! With the opportunity to stop off at Chapel Porth beach on the way, this is definitely one to add to your wish list!
Pendeen to Sennen Cove 9.1m/14.6km
The Yemaya HQ team love this walk. A bit more challenging in some areas than other walks with short, rough ascents and descents alongside easy open walking but it is well worth the effort. The Coast path takes you from the lighthouse at Pendeen Watch, along rugged and exposed paths to the beautiful golden sand at Sennen Cove. Definitely one of our favourite Spring walks when the need for adventure grabs you.
Gorran Haven to Portmellon Circular Walk 5.9m/9.6km
A circular walk along the sheer Cornish cliffs with breath taking views. The walk takes you to the beautiful Colona Beach, returning through West Bodrugan Woods Nature Reserve. It is a moderately difficult walk, perfect for a Sunday afternoon with a Springtime snorkel or rock pool exploration depending on the tide and your need for adventure!
So go on, get your diary out and start planning those adventures.
Here at Yemaya HQ we like our adventures to be accompanied by a flask of hot tea and a picnic, not forgetting a tasty snack for our favourite four legged team members.
Don’t forget to share your favourite walks and places for adventures and of course, your must haves to keep you going on your adventure!
